U12 Mini-Tournament 12 November 2017

Our Under 12’s met for the second time this season to play 3 games at Droitwich on what is becoming a now familiar cold afternoon.

In the first game the side started well but found themselves behind to two breakaway goals by Colwall & Malvern, and then unfortunately due to a couple of injuries – one thought to quite serious at the time – the match was abandoned before KHP could reply. In the second game against Redditch, KHP put in a good performance but thoughts where with their injured colleague and sadly conceded a goal in the dying minutes of the game.

With one more game to play the team rallied and got a well-deserved win in a entertaining game against Harborne with Matthew Kingsbury scoring for a 1 – 0 win.

Well done to the boys and girls and fortunately the injury ended up just badly bruised knock of hard hockey ball on a cold afternoon.

U8 and U10 Mini-Tournaments 5 November 2017

Under 8’s First Taste of Mini-tournament

On a chilly Sunday morning in Stourport, King Heaths youngest recruits took their first steps at playing mini-tournament Hockey.

They played a simpler version of Hockey called QuickSticks – larger lighter ball, 4 a side, no goalkeepers and with rules made easier to keep the game moving.

We played 5 games, coming away with a win, draw and 3 losses but everyone had fun and enjoyed the morning and can’t wait for the next meeting in December.

Under 10’s Enjoy Mixed Fortunes

Following on after the Under 8, the Under 10 had their second meeting of the season.

Again playing 3 games but getting a draw and two losses, but were unfortunate to not get 2 wins and a loss. Lewis Harris again scoring.

Thanks to parents and player for braving the cold.

U12 mini-tournament 8 October 2017

First U12 mini-tournament of the year was held at Stourport HC on Sunday 8th October.

A new looking U12 side played 3 games coming away with two good draws and a loss. A good team performance in all games, with the loss coming against a well drilled Stourport A team.

All looking forward to the next tournament in November.

U10 mini-tournament 1 October 2017

KHP Juniors had their first Under 10s mini-tournament of the season stepping in as a late replacement at Edgbaston.

Playing three 15 minute games against Olton, Edgbaston and Hampton teams. Coming away with a win against Edgbaston with Lewis Harris scoring, and losing their other two games 1-0 and 2-0.

All the games where close contests where really any team could have won. Well done everyone.

We run three Men’s sides, two Ladies’ sides, and a Badgers side that all compete in local leagues every Saturday through the season. We employ a professional coach for training sessions and have many qualified volunteer coaches. So whether you’re male or female, young or old, beginner or seasoned-pro, we’d love to meet you and welcome you as a valued member of our club.

Our Junior Section was formed 22 years ago with the aim of getting more local youngsters involved in hockey. We run structured training sessions which are lead by qualified coaches. Our weekly sessions are safe and fun, with tried and tested routines to develop all the necessary skills needed to play hockey whilst ensuring it is enjoyable. Sessions are open to 5-16 year olds of all abilities, including beginners.

We firmly believe that sport should have a social dimension, and in addition to socialising after matches we also run a number of social events throughout the year. We are part of Kings Heath Cricket and Sports Club which also runs other sports sections including cricket, tennis, squash, snooker, and bowls.
